Andrews Family Vineyards farms over 1300 acres of vineyards and have long supplied grapes to some of the best-known and highest-rated Washington wines. Fourth-generation Jeff Andrews, along with winemaker Ray McKee, pull from the very best plots to make a tiny amount of superior wine. Their inaugural vintage (2018) they made only Cabernet Sauvignon but they have branched out to other grapes and cuvees. They are out to prove that Horse Heaven Hills wines can compete with cult Napa wines and classic Bordeaux.

The Elegance of Trothe
Clive Pursehouse
“...I was fortunate to taste the second release of their Cabernet Sauvignon, of which only nine barrels were made. The direction this partnership has chosen for this luxury project eschews the typical blueprint. Andrews and McKee are opting for elegance and refinement over big and bombastic. The Trothe, Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is stunning. Captivating aromas of dried violet, tobacco and sagebrush give way to redberries and mocha. The wine showcases sappy blackberry and dusty cherry flavours balanced by savoury herbs and cocoa nibs. The palate and mouthfeel are lush yet layered, with lingering acidity. All framed by fine tannins that are a hallmark of the windy conditions in the Horse Heaven Hills.”
